Södertörn University and the Institute for Language and Folklore (Isof) jointly invite you to a conference on perspectives on the revitalization of minority languages. Language revitalization is an increasingly urgent issue in our time, in the Nordic region and in Europe as well as worldwide.

The conference will highlight results from both practice and research to enable the problematization of revitalization as a concept, idea and practice. Each conference day has a different focus. The first day is devoted to presentations of experiences from ongoing projects for the revitalization of national minority languages. The second and third days focus on current international research on language revitalization from broader perspectives.

During 2022–2024, both Södertörn University and Isof have specific government assignments to support the revitalization of the Swedish national minority languages.
