Senior lecturer in journalism with a particular focus on research on local journalism as well as gender and media. I teach journalism at all levels, both practically and theoretically.

As a researcher, I am interested in the practice of journalism. I am driven by finding new knowledge that can contribute to the development of journalism in a future media landscape, so that journalism can continue to be relevant and relevant to the entire society and contribute to strong, democratic structures.

During 2022-2023, I participated in the research and collaboration project Local Democracy in a Digital World, which explored how local media and libraries could work together to strengthen local democracy.

I have previously participated in the research and collaboration project The News Universe for Young People. The aim was to explore how local journalism could be more relevant for the target group 25 to 35 years old.

I have also been involved as a researcher in the research project Varieties of Media Effects at JMG, University of Gothenburg.

Together with Media and Democracy at Lindholmen Science Park, I took the initiative in 2019 to form the national network Local Journalism for All. The aim is to gather media industry and academia to discuss how local media can become more inclusive and relevant for all groups in society.

Reviewer for the journals Feminist Media Studies and Nordicom Review.

I did my doctoral dissertation in 2017 on the thesis "Battling the "Invisible Nets" – Gender in the fields of journalism in sub-Saharan Africa.
